Are you 100% certain that you are saved? If you are, what are you basing your certainty on? If not, what are you basing your uncertainty on? Let us settle this, for it is absolutely critical that we come to the correct conclusion on this!
I don’t know what your childhood was like growing up, but it can be tough! All children want is to be accepted. They want nothing but to be loved! Yet, too often they don’t find it so, and it can lead to lifelong issues. Even as adults, we often are still in a desperate search for acceptance from others! Yes, at times our hearts are broken and we cry within, and sometimes, without. Today, I want to tell you about someone who does care about you, and has done something about it too! So listen carefully. Yes, I myself faced much rejection; as a child in particular. It was during my early adult days that I found someone who was not a fair-weather friend! I found someone who actually did care and proved it with their actions! So then, let us find out to whom we do matter so much!
Where will you be in 90 years from now? If we think about it, we have approximately 7.6 billion people on planet Earth right now, and in 90 years or so, none of these people will live here any longer! Life is so short! Even if we live to be 120, what is that compared to the billions of years that follow our little existence down here?! Question is, are we prepared to step into eternity? Where will we exist for eternity? Is it really worth it to live as one pleases on Earth now, only to pay for it throughout eternity? Would it not seem wise to make absolutely certain that we are prepared for what lies beyond our few days here below? Would it not seem astute to thoroughly research what, if anything, is the reality beyond our life on this planet? Then, if necessary, to make 100% sure that things will turn out for the best possible outcome for us? It sure would to me!
Can I do as I please without consequences? Obviously not. For if I rob a bank, I can expect to have the law after me, to be put on trial, and tossed into prison! Now, what if you invite me into your home, can I do absolutely whatever I want? What if I walk throughout your house with dirty shoes? What if I break your furniture? I’m sure you would have issues with that! Truth is, we are living on God Almighty’s planet! He is the Creator and we the created. God has set limitations for us, and I might add, they are set up for our benefit! God said we should not murder. Does this benefit or harm you? God said we should not steal. Is this of advantage to you? You see, it is a good thing when we are accountable to those over us. For, can you imagine if there was no one to call if your place was being robbed? Yes, to have God as authority is for our good! Yeah, some don’t like it or want it. Why? Because they want to be able to do the things that God has forbidden! Some folk don’t like the idea of being answerable for their actions! However, how good and just it is that the evil perpetrators of this world will all stand before the Judge of the universe and receive their due reward! Yet, what about you and I? What will that day hold when we stand before our Creator, the Judge of the living and the dead? Indeed, Judgement Day is ticking nearer!
Is it true that, a person can really be saved simply by, “grace through faith in Christ alone,” or is there something I also must do? This is critical, seeing that, if grace is not enough, then all who are relying on it are actually lost. Contrariwise, if we are also relying on something of ourselves and it is by grace alone, then all these people are still lost in their sins! So what is the truth? Let us find out!
Think of this, that from eternity past, God knew all about you. He knew where you would be born. He knew what your name would be. Yes, and He also knew all the sinful things you would do. He knew all the things you would say against Him. Indeed, He even knew that in our pride, that some of us would try to obey our way into Heaven, and that some of us would want nothing to do with Him at all! Yet, despite all this, God gave up His beloved Son in whom He delighted to the cross! Indeed, Jesus willingly gave Himself to the gruesome death upon a cross for you in light of all this! There He willingly took the wrath of God for your sin – all of it! With a certainty, this is love of the highest calibre! For scarcely will a person lay down their lives for a nice person, but Jesus laid down His life for rebellious sinners like us! This is nothing less than amazing grace!
How can I go to Heaven? This is the question we want to address today! We could further ask, Just how good, is good enough, to enter Heaven? What’s it take? What is it that God requires? What will God say when He opens the books in respect to your life? What will your history look like? How will it read? Are you comfortable with that? What do you think God, who is perfectly holy, will say to you? What judgement will He give to you? Listen, I want the absolute best outcome possible for you, and that is why I’m taking the time to address you today! So let us see the marvellous message God has for you now!
Social media and the news are filled with reports with respect to catastrophic hurricanes, threats of war, political prophecies, wildfires, floods, alignments of planets, moons, and all kinds of other accounts that make many anxious! At the same time, many claim that these cataclysmic events are God’s judgement. That the end-times are upon us! Is this all just hype and scare-tactics? We could truly ask, what in the world is going on! Let us seek to make sense of these things now.
Some say Jesus was only a good man. Others say He is God. Still others say He was but a prophet. I ask then, who did Jesus claim to be? What say the Scriptures? What says the Torah? The claims of who Jesus is are absolutely vital! Let us make a careful search as to the things respecting Jesus Christ.
So often Law and grace are pitted against each other! Yet, both come from God. So, just how does all this work? Am I to obey the Law? Does sin matter if grace is the answer? Then again, could it be that we are to balance law and grace? Indeed there is a correct answer, so let us dig into this and sort it all out!
