No Rejects!

The Gospel

Most of us will likely already have learned that this world is a cruel place to live! Terms like, “peer-pressure,” “hazing,” “ostracization,” besides many others, give a clear indicator of how brutal society can be to one! Yet, every human being has a yearning to be accepted. People don’t like to feel “unloved,” “unwanted,” or worse yet. People want to be loved, cared about, and accepted.

Thankfully, there is a God who loves us beyond what even that of any human being could! A God who loves all people, no matter the demographic! It doesn’t matter what your skin colour is. It doesn’t matter if you’re rich or poor, old or young, healthy or ill, or what gender you are. It doesn’t matter what country, people, or group you identify with. It is simply recorded, “For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16) “World,” being a term referring to all “humanity.”

How to Stop Being a Slave to Sin

Christian LifeThe Gospel

“For I do not do the good I want, but the evil I do not want is what I keep on doing.” (Romans 7:19) Does this sound familiar in your life? I remember being there too! You see, many of us, even from very different backgrounds and worldviews, will agree 6815678009_444a2fa91e_bthat sin is our problem. However, where we disagree is in the “how” of dealing with it. Is the concept of, “Be as good as you can, and that’s good enough,” correct? Perhaps as long as, “My good is greater than my bad”? Then again, maybe if I ask God to forgive me each time I sin, I can avert the consequences of sin. Yet, perhaps, if I turn from all my sin, then God will accept me?! There are many concepts that are believed and taught in various circles. However, I trust that we all want to know the truth, even if it could mean departing from our preconceived ideas and teachings we’ve become familiar with. So let us think these things through together…

I wonder, is your heart 4266283238_401d102b93_opure? Have you been freed from the controlling power of sin in your life? Or are you still plagued by sin’s vice like grip on your life? Are you held captive by sinful things in your life? Things like watching movies filled with violence, sexual immorality, and vengeance? Are sinful habits still master over you? Do you ever feel like, “This just isn’t working”? Perhaps you’ve thought the answer is trying harder to be a good person. Yet, as hard as you try, you just seem to flounder and fail the more! There is an answer for this! There is hope indeed! For God says He, “Cleansed their hearts by faith.” (Acts 15:9)

That I May Gain Christ

Christian LifeThe Gospel

Saul of Tarsus, a man with quite a history! One who  was, “foremost” of sinners. This, despite the fact that, “As to righteousness under the law, blameless.” (Philippians 3:6, 1 Timothy 1:15)

Though Saul of Tarsus thought to be serving God by his life, God stopped him in his tracks and asked, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?” (Acts 9:4) No doubt, Saul was a very misguided person! Here, Saul, as a law-keeper, thought he was serving the Lord! Yet, to the absolute contrary, he was the “foremost” of sinners! What a shocking revelation to Saul! It took a lot for God to get Saul’s attention! As it is recorded, “Suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. And falling to the ground he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? And he said, Who are you, Lord? And he said, I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting…Saul rose from the ground, and although his eyes were opened, he saw nothing. So they led him by the hand…” (Acts 9:3-8) Yes, Saul was zealous for the law, but very misguided! He was a religious fellow, filled with the pride of self-achievement!

So, how could it be that Saul, a man who was “blameless” “under the law,” could be so lost?
