Grace Faith Christ Alone?

Uncategorized

Is it true that, a person can really be saved simply by, “grace through faith in Christ alone,” or is there something I also must do? This is critical, seeing that, if grace is not enough, then all who are relying on it are actually lost. Contrariwise, if we are also relying on something of ourselves and it is by grace alone, then all these people are still lost in their sins! So what is the truth? Let us find out!

God Loves You Anyway!

Uncategorized

Think of this, that from eternity past, God knew all about you. He knew where you would be born. He knew what your name would be. Yes, and He also knew all the sinful things you would do. He knew all the things you would say against Him. Indeed, He even knew that in our pride, that some of us would try to obey our way into Heaven, and that some of us would want nothing to do with Him at all! Yet, despite all this, God gave up His beloved Son in whom He delighted to the cross! Indeed, Jesus willingly gave Himself to the gruesome death upon a cross for you in light of all this! There He willingly took the wrath of God for your sin – all of it! With a certainty, this is love of the highest calibre! For scarcely will a person lay down their lives for a nice person, but Jesus laid down His life for rebellious sinners like us! This is nothing less than amazing grace!

Why Law and Grace?

Uncategorized

So often Law and grace are pitted against each other! Yet, both come from God. So, just how does all this work? Am I to obey the Law? Does sin matter if grace is the answer? Then again, could it be that we are to balance law and grace? Indeed there is a correct answer, so let us dig into this and sort it all out!

Stone Throwers

Uncategorized

The religious crowd can be so ruthless! Remember the woman caught in adultery? Here the religious mob had dragged her before Christ. In their mind, they had caught a sinner, a sinner who deserved to die for her sin! Now, it is not that they were wrong, but the hypocrisy in it all is that they were sinners too! They also deserved to die for their sins! When Jesus exposed them for their hypocrisy, they departed one by one, from the youngest to the oldest!

Yes, today we still have religious people who are all too eager to “throw stones.” Yet, all the while living in sin themselves! Oh, how many haven’t suffered at the hands of the religious ones! Perhaps, you also have been the victim of their hard-heartedness?

Yet, we see that Jesus didn’t come to “throw stones,” that is “to condemn,” but rather that the people may be “saved”! In fact, Jesus allowed them to “throw stones” at Him in order to save us from our sins – from their consequences! Yes, Jesus died on the cross, having been handed over by the religious leaders! It was these that incited the crowds to call for his crucifixion! Yes, indeed, religion stands against the gospel of grace! Remarkably, religion stands for “self-righteousness”! It has an air of, “I am holier than thou”! On the hand, the grace of God reaches down to where we haven been cast down in the ditch, and unlike the religious ones, stops and has compassion on the one cast down and left half dead!

The Devil’s Grace

Christian LifeThe Gospel

In today’s day, we hear a lot about grace! It seems it’s the latest fad! So what is all the hype about? I ask, why is today’s teaching so dangerous?

Now, it isn’t that grace is not good, it is! Yet, the Word of God warns us that a time will come when people will surround themselves to hear what they want to hear. That is, they want the “feel good” messages! They want the motivational “pep talk”! They don’t want to hear anything negative. They don’t want to hear about sin. They don’t want to hear about consequences for their sin! No, they only want to hear about how much God loves them!

Cheap Grace?

Christian LifeThe Gospel

Sometimes the  accusation is levelled that those who believe, “Once saved. Always saved,”have “cheap grace.” By this they mean that there is no cost to the believer. That there is nothing they have to do for it. That no “turning from sin,” no ongoing confessions, no obedience, is required for salvation. Let us examine then, if this allegation is true or false!

Are You Being Poisoned?

Uncategorized

If someone we14600520_10154606843147386_1034151420_ore to pass you a bottle of water, you wouldn’t hesitate to crack the cap open and have a drink! However, if the person first cracked the lid, how many drops of poison would they have to put in before you would say, “No thanks!”? I suspect, just one! Now, why would you refuse to drink it? Well, obviously, the pure water has become polluted! The whole lot has become poison! So it is, mix a little lie in with the truth, and you got something altogether false! This is a danger we are all exposed to! So how does this concept apply to spiritual matters? Let us see!

Yes God Does Love YOU!

Have the people of the world let you down? Perhaps, even those who claim to be Christians? Please, don’t let this reflect on God! Still ringing in my ears, are words that I heard spoken by a person I met briefly enough, to hear only these words, “I hate religion, but I love God.” Just think of it, the Pharisees were religious, and they had Jesus crucified! The amazing thing is, He let them do it! But why?

Ever heard the story of the “Good Samaritan”? Do you think it was just a “good moral story”? If so, then you have missed the whole po10807580284_549dcab44c_bint of the story!

“And behold, a lawyer stood up to put him to the test, saying, Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” It is clear from the get go, that this expert in the Law, thought that surely He could do something to gain eternal life! Therefore, Jesus will show this expert, how gravely wrong he is in his thinking! For even the Scriptures say, “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags.” (^Isaiah 64:6) So now, let us now examine Luke 10:25-37)

Amazing Grace!

Can you imagine, laying down your life for a crook?! I mean, like, not a chance, right?! Well, “For a good person, I might…maybe?,” you say.

Hmmm…, I wonder, on the other hand, would you want someone to lay down their life for you, to rescue you? I think we would all automatically respond, “Well, of course! Yes!”
